Ololiuqui Seeds
High quality seeds of the Ololiuqui (Turbina/rivea corymbosa). Like Morning Glory and Hawaiian Baby Woodrose, these seeds contain LSA, a natural tryptamine called Lysergic Acid Amide (LSA), akin to LSD. The work of a Spanish physician, Francisco Hernandez, from 1570, records that priests entered a trance-like state after eating Ololiuqui seeds. The LSA in Ololiuqui is a psychedelic drug which has very strong mental effects, similar to those of LSD. One has to take into account certain side effects, like considerable nausea and a mellow feeling before starting the trip; this can last for more than 1 hour.
Using Ololiuqui seeds
The degree of the high is affected by when one has eaten last, because the Ololiuqui seeds are eaten. If you consume the seeds on an empty stomach (4-6 hours after eating), you can begin to feel the effects within 1 hour. The first effect to be felt is often nausea. - Soak the seeds in water for 3 to 4 days (change the water regularly).
- Remove the soft white substance around the seeds and eat the seeds. This is the best method if you want to avoid the negative side effects. The effects of the Ololiuqui seeds will be slightly less.

Cultivating Ololiuqui in the Garden

Cover with 1 to 2 cm of seed or cutting compost. Give plenty of water but not so much that the seeds are washed away. After a few weeks, beautifully coloured flowers will develop on bright green, curly branches.
