Growing marijuana yourself is the easiest with autoflower cannabis seeds. Because the plant automatically flowers, you don't need to take into account complicated light regimes. Read the information below about autoflower seeds or grab one of our blogs on autoflowering!
Autoflower Cannabis is just Cannabis. There is not a different kind of weed coming off the weed plant when you grow with autoflowering seeds. The difference is in the way autoflowers grow and flower. For example, one of the biggest advantages of autoflowering is that the plants automatically switch to the flowering phase. They do not need a different light schedule for this and therefore growing is easier. Growing autoflowers also takes less time than with 'normal' weed plants. Those normal ones; we call them photoperiod weed plants. You can read more about the characteristics of autoflower seeds later on.
There is one difference. Autoflower cannabis, or your own weed that comes from an autoflowering plant, is usually less potent. This means that the THC percentage of the weed is somewhat lower than with weed from photoperiod weed plants. It all depends on what you are looking for. A good 20% THC is perfectly achievable, so an autoflower will simply get you stoned. Otherwise, autoflower cannabis is exactly the same as 'normal' weed.

Growing Autoflower: How do autoflower seeds work?
Are you going to grow an autoflower? Then we advise you to read up on it first. Autoflowering means the plant will automatically flower after a period of about three weeks. Why is that? Cannabis ruderalis is a bush naturally occurring in Central and Eastern Europe and Russia. Although related to the more famous sativa and indica strains, the ruderalis is not so rich in cannabinoids such as THC and CBD. The yield is also significantly lower than the Cannabis sativa or Cannabis indicastrains. Yet, the disadvantage of both Sativa and Indica plants is they only start flowering when days get shorter.
Shorter days don't affect the ruderalis. This cannabis plant automatically flowers, irrespective of the day length or amount of light. A fantastic feature. By crossing ruderalis with sativa or indica, we get some kind of superplant; auto-flowering cannabis plants with a higher yield and a high dose of cannabinoids. This not only makes autoflower growing easier for beginner growers. With today's genius crosses and amazing autoflower seeds, you can achieve the same strong weed and high yields with autoflower growing. That makes these new special genetics also suitable for advanced growers.
An autoflowering strain is often grown indoors because you have less space in a grow room. Autoflowering strains stay smaller, so you can simply put them in your tent or. Also, you can grow more than one in the same time frame. This means that you save time and space when you grow an autoflowering strain indoors.
Is it possible to grow an autoflowering plant outdoors? Yes of course it is! It is ideal, for instance, if you don't want to flower in the cold and damp month of November. If you start in time, your autoflower will be ready long before the weather gets bad. On average an autoflower needs about 3 months from seed to harvest outdoors. Photoperiod weed plants need much more time outdoors.
Do plants always stay small when growing autoflower?
An autoflower cannabis plant does not necessarily remain a small plant. The Amnesia Haze Automatic, for example, can reach a height of up to one and a half meter. The size and yield of your plant strongly depend on the growth conditions. Water, fertilizer, light and air are especially important to maximize yields. Truly next-level is the so-called ScrOG method, which allows you to greatly increase the size and yield of a single plant.
When should I harvest AutoFlower?
An often asked question that arises from people who try their hand at growing autoflowers is, "When should I harvest my autoflower?" We can be very brief about that. Exactly the same rules apply as with photoperiod weed plants. You can harvest your autoflower when most of the trichomes on your autoflower cannabis buds and leaves look milky. You can examine the trichomes with a special weed microscope. Want to know more about when to harvest (autoflower) cannabis? Read our blog.
