Trichomes

Trichomes form the resin glands of the cannabis plant, which eventually contain the active substances such as THC, CBD and CBG. Once the trichomes mature, the cannabis plant begins to produce these valuable substances. After a few weeks, the trichomes change color and resin production stops. This is the ideal time to harvest your weed. However, it is very difficult to observe this with the naked eye. The microscope is designed to judge when this optimal harvest moment occurs. The resin glands change from transparent to opaque milky white, and eventually to amber and brown. The optimal harvest moment is reached when most of the trichomes are a milky white color. Then the THC percentage is optimal.
