What is Hydroponics?
Hydroponics is a method of growing plants in which their roots stand in water. Without soil. While every cannabis plant can be 'taught to swim,' it's important to train them from a young age. No kidding: start early with hydroponic growing so they develop roots suitable for this method. The roots of hydroponic plants look very different from those of soil-grown plants. This is because hydroponic roots develop to absorb sufficient oxygen.
But what do you plant your plant in? Good hydroponic media include clay pellets (hydro pellets) and rock wool. They all offer an airy medium where roots can grow freely. Why Hydroponics? The Advantages:
- Nutrient delivery is simpler - hydroponic nutrients dissolve in water, making it easy for the plant to absorb them.
- Most problems with cannabis plants originate from the soil and roots. Hydroponic plants are more resistant to mold, diseases, and pests.
- Hydroponic plants can grow huge, provided that water management is optimal. This increases the potential yield.
- Full control over EC and pH levels.
- Nutrients are cost-effective because Plagron A+B is highly concentrated.
Hydroponics also has drawbacks. At first, it takes some getting used to the method and frequency of water and nutrient delivery. These need to be closely monitored - the roots must not dry out.
Nutrient Schedule Plagron Hydro A+B
Shake well before use. Add up to 2.5 ml of Hydro A per 1 liter of water (1:400). Use the same amount of Hydro B for each dosage of Hydro A, for a total of up to 5 ml per 1 liter of water. Use this combined nutrient solution at every watering.
