The Peyote Cactus
The Peyote Cactus grows slowly and is not particularly large. It grows to around 12 cm in diameter. It comes mainly from the southern United States or Mexico. In these countries the cactus is used for both religious and recreational purposes. The cactus contains psychoactive substances which can provide an awesome trip. Hallucinations and distorted reality are examples of this. These seeds are harvested in controlled conditions so buying the seeds of this threatened cactus variety is completely responsible.
What is Mescaline?
The psychoactive substance mescaline is naturally present in these cacti. This compound is in a somewhat different form from pure mescaline though. Therefore you need a decent amount of a cactus such as peyote, san pedro or peruvian torch in order to get the same effects as a chemically produced, pure mescaline. From the other point of view, you will be tripping magnificently on something that is naturally occurring. The effect can be compared to a trip on shrooms, ayahuasca or LSD, but the trip lasts for longer and it is accompanied by unique nuances. The effect begins some 45 to 90 minutes after taking. The peak experience unfolds some 4 to 6 hours after swallowing the cactus, with the total trip lasting between 8 and 14 hours.
