Kanna extract UC contains a higher concentration of the alkaloid mesembrine than other Kanna extracts. Because of this, the calming effect is stronger than with other Kanna extracts. Kanna is extracted from the plant Sceletium Tortuosum, which is native to South Africa. The dried leaves are processed to powder. The herb is also called Channa or Kougoed. The Khoikhoi discovered more than 300 years ago that the relaxing and narcotic effect of Channa is the result of chewing, sniffing or smoking the leaves.
Effect:
Kanna extract UC contains more than sufficient mesembrine for a strong effect. Most people will experience the strongest effect with Kanna UC extract or Kanna 10x extract. For some people, Kanna UC2 extract is the strongest. Kanna improves the mood, reduces fears and makes you feel more carefree. A higher concentration of mesembrine also results in a pleasant narcotic effect, euphoric feelings and a more intense connection with your surroundings. First the effect is stimulating, after that it changes to a more relaxing feeling. Some users of Kanna experience an improvement of the libido and a higher sensibility of touch.
Using Kanna extract UC:
Kanna in powder form can be chewed, mixed with for example chocolate milk, spread over your meal or simply be consumed as tea. You chew Kanna by mixing a dose of 100mg to 200 mg with a piece of chewing gum. To sniff, a dose of 20 mg is sufficient to notice effects. To prepare Kanna tea, you take half a spoon of Kanna and 1 cup of hot water, let this steep for 15 minutes. You can also extract the active substances of Kanna with an alcoholic beverage.
Components:
The active components of Kanna (Sceletium Tortuosum) are: mesembrine, mesembrenol, turtuosamine and mesembrenone. The alkaloid Mesembrine is the most important component of Kanna, it concerns a Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI).
Warnings:
Kanna concerns a Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). Don't combine Kanna with other SSRI's (anti-depressives) such as Seroxat, Prozac etc. Also do not combine with MAO inhibitors such as Banisteriopsis Caapi Trueno, Yohimbe, Peganum harmala and Passionflower (Passiflora incarnata).
