Avery’s Albino mushrooms
Avery’s Albino mushrooms owe their name to their striking white appearance. The mushroom most likely originated from a white-retaining mutation of the Cambodian strain. The name Avery comes from the grower “Albinous White,” who named the mushroom after his daughter Avery when he managed to stabilize this strain.
About white mushrooms
There are two types of white mushrooms: true albinos and so-called leucistic variants. This means the fruiting bodies are mostly white or cream-colored, often with a slight blue or beige hue when bruised. Avery’s Albino is predominantly white, sometimes with a faint yellowish tint at the cap edge. This stable strain is always a showstopper.
Unlike the leucistic Albino A+ (white fruit body but dark spores), Avery’s Albino is a true albino with completely pigmentless mushrooms and white spores. In practice, you will see sturdy white stems and pale caps that remain compact. When bruised, a blue-green discoloration may appear. Harvest preferably just before the veil under the cap tears, not like in the photo. :) This prevents spores from spreading in the grow bag and keeps your mushrooms potent with less volume for the same effect.
Strength and effects
Avery’s Albino falls between Jack Frost and True Albino Teacher in terms of potency and cultivation ease, combining a striking white appearance with a balanced, creative trip. Avery’s Albino delivers a well-rounded trip full of clear visuals. A cheerful mindset is the key to an amazing journey. The intensity is comparable to other popular but stronger cubensis strains like McKennaii and Golden Teacher, but its clean look immediately stands out. Dose wisely and increase gradually, especially if you are not familiar with white variants. Our advice is to use a lower dosage than what comes out of our calculator.
Contents of the package
- Container with 1200 cc fully colonized substrate
- Professional grow bag with air filters
- A sticker to close the bag
Growing mushrooms in 6 steps
- Clean your hands and the outside of the grow kit.
- Pierce holes in the top layer with a sterilized fork and let the kit soak in water.
- Place the kit in the grow bag with a little water at the bottom.
- Seal the bag with the stickers and store at 20–24 °C.
- Within 3 to 5 weeks the first mushrooms will appear. Provide fresh air and sufficient humidity.
- Harvest the mushrooms when the veil under the cap tears by grasping the mushroom at the base of the stem between thumb and forefinger and gently twisting.
With proper care, you can get multiple harvests from one set. The first flush usually provides the highest yield. Sometimes the mushrooms look oddly shaped. This is normal. They are perfectly safe to consume and may even be stronger.
Expected total yield (multiple flushes)
- Medium grow kit (1200 cc): about 300 g of fresh mushrooms
The yield depends on your cultivation conditions such as humidity and temperature. 3 to 5 flushes may be possible. Our advice is to continue cultivating with the set until it no longer produces mushrooms or becomes contaminated. Follow our manual (scan the QR code on the packaging).
How do mushrooms work?
Mushrooms contain psilocybin and psilocin, substances that cause intense visuals, altered perception and creative insights. Within 30 to 60 minutes you will notice the first effects. The peak of the experience is between 2 and 4 hours, while the full trip lasts 6 to 8 hours. Perfect for those seeking a profound psychedelic experience with a mushroom grow kit.
Safety and legality
The sale of ready-to-use mushrooms is not permitted, but grow kits are completely legal. The results of your magic mushroom grow kit are safe to use provided you follow the basic rules: choose a trusted environment, do not use while driving and never combine with alcohol or other drugs. Make sure a sober tripsitter is present during your experience and read our tips and recommendations for the best trip by scanning the QR code on the packaging.
Dosage
For dried Avery’s Albino mushrooms, a normal dose is between 0.8 and 2.2 g. Avery’s Albino is quite potent, so start very carefully. For beginners a half dose is recommended. A so-called heroic dose, where it feels like you are connected to the universe and no longer know who you are, is 4.3 g of dried Avery’s Albino mushrooms. Never do this the first time. Only for very experienced trippers.
Calculate the right dosage for you with our mushroom and truffle dosage calculator. You can find this and much more information simply by scanning the QR code on the packaging.
Storage
Store the grow kit in the refrigerator at 3 to 6 °C. This way it will keep for 3 to 6 months. Your harvest should be dried immediately. How to do this can be found in the instructions accessible by scanning the QR code on the packaging. Dried mushrooms can be stored for 6–12 months in a cool, dark place. Always check their condition before use. If they are no longer good, they will turn grey and/or green after several months. Blue-tinted mushrooms are normal. Do not freeze or heat mushrooms, as this will cause them to lose their active compounds.
