Plagron Feed Chart for Growing Cannabis

Weed plants need nutrients. But not just any kind of nutrition is suitable for growing weed. The good news is that there are a growing number of brands of weed nutrient that make growing a piece of cake. It is not without reason that Plagron nutrition is the brand we have had in our range the longest. Plagron offers a balanced basic nutrition in various "flavours" and high-quality supplements for great yields and weed that is simply delicious. Here you will find the perfect Plagron growing schedule!

Weed Nutrition by Plagron

Plagron nutrition is a premium choice for your own weed plantation. Well, plantation... We assume in all of our blogs about growing weed that you are abiding by the applicable laws. Right? Great! Then let's dive into the world of Plagron plant nutrition. The basic weed nutrition from Plagron is available in a number of flavours:

  • 100% Natural
  • 100% Terra
  • 100% Coco
  • 100% Hydro
  • Universal

100% Natural

The 100% Natural range is the right choice if you go for organic weed full of flavour. The basic nutrition is called Alga Grow for the growth phase and Alga Bloom for the flowering phase. Alga plant nutrition contains fertilizers based on algae. All products in this range (green label) are 100% organic and can be used in organic farming and organic weed growing.

Plagron Alga Bloom

100% Terra

Do you not care for organic weed and prefer to go for the maximum performance of your weed plant? Then you should go for the 100% Terra line from Plagron. You will recognize the Terra line by the pink label. For the growth phase you choose Terra Grow and for the flowering phase you switch to Terra Bloom. 100% Terra products have a mineral base that has been optimized for growing performance.

Plagron Terra Grow

100% Coco

When growing in coconut fiber substrate, you face different needs and challenges for healthy plants. For example, the roots in coconut fibre should never be allowed to dry out and they need a more accurate pH value for the mixture of nutrition and water. If you are growing in coco then you should choose 100% Coco products from Plagron nutrition, recognizable by the orange label.

100% Hydro

If growing weed in coco doesn't offer you enough of a challenge, then you can choose to switch completely to hydroponics. That's a fancy word for hydro growing or hydroculture. In hydroponics, your plants are underwater, so to speak. You can perhaps imagine that there are plant foods that are much better suited to this than those developed to grow weed in garden soil or potting mix.  is a mineral base nutrition that gives you full control over the EC and pH values. It can be recognized by its blue label. Please note that both Hydro A&B and  are two-component nutrients, of which you cannot use just A or just B.

Plagron Cannabis Feed

Universal

Lastly, we have the Universal range with purple label. You can combine these additives with all the above mentioned types of base nutrition. But be careful if you want to grow organic weed. Further on you will find a nice overview of the additives that are suitable for organic weed.

Plagron Nutrition and Supplements - What are the differences?

What about nutrition and supplements/additives? All plants have a basic need for nutrition and for every type of plant this basic need is slightly different. The advantage of Plagron as a weed nutrition is that the composition exactly matches the basic needs of weed plants. We are talking about the NPK; the ratio of nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus in plant nutrition. If you want to grow large, healthy weed plants, it is inevitable to add this basic nutrient. This has to do with the fact that garden soil and potting soil are depleted faster than the life cycle of a weed plant. And coco and hydroponic substrates contain no nutrition at all. In other words: add nutrition!

With supplements you can improve or reinforce certain characteristics of plants. Think of a richer taste by adding Sugar Royal or stronger roots with Power Roots. Look, these are the supplements from Plagron in a handy overview:

  • Sugar Royal - Improves flavour and shortens the cycle.
  • Power Roots - Stimulates growth and resistance of roots.
  • Pure Zym - Accelerates nutritional absorption.
  • Vita Race - Extra iron for improved photosynthesis.
  • Fish Force - For fast growth, green leaves and high resistance.
  • PK 13-14 - For more compact and harder buds.
  • Start Up - Complete growing nutrition with root stimulator. Do not use Terra Grow, Alga Grow, Power Roots or Vita Race.
  • Ph Plus - Increases the pH value of nutritional water (not necessary with Dutch tap water).
  • Ph Min - Lowers the pH value of nutritional water.
  • Lemon Kick- Naturally lowers the pH of nutritional water.
  • Calcium Kick - Increases pH and improves soil structure.
  • Mega Worm - Worm humus that stimulates soil life.
  • Supermix - Complete fertilizer for a rich soil life.
  • Bat Guano - Bat manure for the best smell and flavour.
  • Perlite - For a more aerated substrate and better drainage. Can be used as hydro substrate.
  • Seeding & Cutting Soil - Healthy start for seeds and cuttings.
  • Seedbox - Complete set for safely germinating seeds.

Growing Schedule Plagron Nutrition

Time to get to the point. Growing weed with Plagron nutrition is certainly not difficult, but with all those products above it can quickly become confusing. We share some Plagron nutritional schedules with you below. Go to the Plagron website to calculate a growing schedule in your situation.

Growing Schedule Plagron - Typical sativa (organic outdoor growing in full soil)

Sativas tend to flower longer than indicas. We take into account a 6 week growth phase and a 12 week flowering period. In this growing schedule we put 1 plant in 1 square meter of full soil. The numbers below apply per 1 liter of water. So multiply by the number of liters of water you make before watering. Make sure the pH is between 6.0 and 6.5. Use Lemon Kick to lower the pH with organic weed. In reality, increasing the pH is rarely necessary because tap water is relatively alkaline (the opposite of acidic).

Note that week 1 only starts after the seedling phase and therefore there are mature leaves on your young weed plant. More about the seedling phase in this blog.

Growing Schedule Plagron - Typical indica (Sea of Green; Fast Flower)

There are indica strains today with a very short flowering period that lasts 7 weeks or less. These fast flowers are just begging to be grown in a Sea of Green setup. You then puts as many pots as possible on the available surface. For this calculation we assume a growing space of 1 square meter on which 10 pots of 12 liters fit in a honeycomb. Yield is especially important and that is why we now use the 100% Terra products from Plagron. The following growing schedule again applies to the preparation of 1 liter of water.

Once again: week 1 starts after the seedling phase.

Growing Schedule Plagron - Typical hybrid autoflower (Outdoors)

Autoflowers (the word says it all) automatically transition into the flowering phase. You can read more about this in this blog. Often autoflowers already show signs of flowering in the first weeks of their growth phase. This is why it can be difficult to determine when you should switch to bloom nutrition. We stick to around 4 weeks for the growth phase of an autoflowering plant. Let's suppose that you put 3 weed plants on a square meter of full soil. That will suit most autoflowers just fine. Again we stick to one liter for the following amounts of Plagron nutrition, but take into account a few days to a week of germination and without any nutrition in the seedling phase which often lasts a week as well:

Above you can see that we give the 50/50 growth and bloom nutrition in the fourth week for a flawless transition to the flowering phase. The moment you pick that point in your grow depends on your situation and nature. If you can clearly see signs of pre-flowering and your plant has been growing for at least 3 weeks, you can make an even switch to bloom nutrition as far as we are concerned.
